Instagram App Love

I have a bit of an obsession with Instagram. Ask any of my followers like @bgroff4181 or @laurynvan and they might even tell you that I annoy them with constant picture uploads in their streams. I have set out to make a list of all the favorite apps of my own and from across the web suggested by other Instagram fans. I consider myself a bit of an Instagram snob thanks to processing my pictures in other apps first instead of just  using one of the Instagram effects.  I like my pictures to look different. Unique. Ok, I’m a nerd, I know.

If you are a photo nerd like me then you will enjoy the apps in this article that can be used in conjunction with Instagram to make a picture truly yours.

First up is Lumie. This is a super neat app that adds what photographers call Bokeh. Those little round circles that make a photograph’s depth of field look super neat. Lumie also has different shaped bokeh sections like hearts, glitter, dots, cosms, disco, stars, forms, street, geeky, pop, seasonal, and fireworks.

Next up, Labelbox. This app allows you to take pictures in app or import from your camera phone and add labels. There are all sorts of free labels and additional ones for sale. Pictures from here can be added to Instagram as well.

The first picture combines Instagram, Bubble Frame, and Label Box editing all-in-one

Bubble Frame is another favorite and can be combined with Instagram or Label Box. There are so many background patterns to choose from or keep things simple with a block of color. Text can be added in this app or saved and uploaded to label box for a different text effect. Then, as with the other apps mentioned,  can be added to Instagram. With a pinch of a finger,  add a picture bubble or two or three or more.

A new app for me but certainly not for many is Adobe Photoshop Express which allows you to use simple gestures to quickly edit and share photos from your mobile device. Editing includes adding a border, frame, sharpening, saturation, photo effects, color tints, and much more.

I have not used Phoster but it looks like I might want to after reading the iTunes description.

“This is a user-friendly application to create stylish posters and various invitation cards. With stylish templates which are already within the application, you will be able to create posters without great effort.
When you get the job done of first step making posters, you can utilize various effects and decorates to complete the chic posters your own.”

“This App is for you to create posters to promote and invite your friends at your party, concert, birthday etc.
You will share your created posters with your friends via facebook, twitter, tumbler, and email.”

This App is applicable to all models of iPhone, iPad, iPod touch.

Camera+ This is another I think I am going to try out since it comes highly recommended by some seriously talented guy I found on the web named Jason Hudson. He only uses this app first. Here is a little of the app description from iTunes:

With Camera+ you’re able to use your iPhone to shoot the best photos you possibly can. Packed with several useful features that your standard camera app doesn’t include, your pics will improve the instant you start using Camera+.

Jason Hudson also offers Instagrammer School tips worth reading when you have a little time.

Jason Hudson also highly suggests Afterglow. From the iTunes description:

“Afterglow is the perfect image editing app for quick and straight forward editing. Our simple design, paired with powerful and snappy tools, will give you the look you want in seconds.”
